Investing for good

We know that if you are making an investment you need to ensure your funds are not only doing good but generating returns for the risk you’re taking. This is exactly what RCB bonds offer:

  • It’s easy to buy RCB bonds through your stockbroker or wealth manager – just as you would when buying or selling stocks and shares. When speaking to your stockbroker, just quote the RCB issue name and ISIN number, which can be found in Documents>Bond Documents or any of the borrower profiles in RCB Issues.
  • If you don’t have a registered stockbroker account, it is easy to open one through many firms including AJ Bell and Hargreaves Lansdown.
  • RCB bonds are designed so they can be held in SIPPS and Stocks & Shares ISAs, but this will be subject to the scheme administrator’s rules.
  • RCB bonds provide finance to a specific organisation which you can follow and monitor rather than a general fund, so you can invest in something close to your heart.
  • When you subscribe for RCB bonds you enable the borrower to accelerate social impact.

How to trade and track RCB bonds

You can buy RCB bonds at issue when they are initially offered to investors via a prospectus, which will have been reviewed by the financial regulator, the FCA, setting out the terms of the bonds and the risk factors. Sign up below to receive details of future RCB bond offers.

Thereafter, RCB bonds can be bought and sold on London Stock Exchange where there is a market in the bonds provided by registered market makers and other market participants.

Private investors can buy and sell current RCB bonds through any regulated stockbroker platform, just as you would with stocks and shares. You will just need to quote the name of the bond and the ISIN number.

You can track the price of your bonds on London Stock Exchange at any time during its opening hours.

In addition, RCB will keep you informed of the performance of its borrowers through its website so you can compare them with your other investments. You’ll also be able to track the impact of your investments with annual social impact reports.

Other reasons to include RCB bonds to your portfolio:

  • They’re direct investments so you’re not paying investment management fees for investing in a pooled fund.
  • You can buy small amounts (a minimum of £500) so they can be used to diversify your portfolio.
  • RCB bonds are issued on behalf of a wide range of well-established impact-led organisations so you have the benefit of standard products with strong track records, while being able to lend to borrowers you really believe in.
