Retail Charity Bonds PLC announces that the following statement has been published by The Alnwick Garden Trust (the “Charity”):

The Alnwick Garden Trust experienced its most successful ever December in 2020. It welcomed over 30,000 visitors to its Christmas Light Trail, an increase of 300% on the previous year. Additionally, over 2,000 families enjoyed the Charity’s extremely popular Father Christmas experience, that was modified into an outdoor event to ensure COVID safety. In terms of social impacts, the Charity was able to deliver over 150 Christmas hampers to vulnerable and isolated older people in the local community. As per lockdown regulations, The Alnwick Garden closed on 31st December 2020.

The Garden is usually closed in January for the annual deep clean so the forced closure did not impact on these activities. All the major maintenance programmes were completed and The Garden is ready for reopening when restrictions allow. Liquidity has benefited from both a strong performance in the summer – post lockdown – and the record performance over Christmas with the business generating a cash surplus over the last 9 months .

The Lilidorei development is still very much on track. The construction team has now moved on site and the enabling works have commenced.
